I Was One Step From Homeless… Until One Decision Changed My Life Forever
Hello, my name is Frank Calabro Jr., and I am a true internet rags-to-riches success story.
My journey was long and difficult, filled with failure, mistakes, and extreme hardships. What may have appeared to be overnight success was actually a 17-year journey.
I served my country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years. At 31 years of age, I retired early from military life and immediately began my path as an entrepreneur.
Being self-employed was always my destiny. While still on active duty, I started a vending company that became quite lucrative. That business grew into a full-time income before my final day in the military and only fueled my ambition further.
Within two months of leaving the service, I had already started my second company. I owned and operated a commercial cleaning service and landed several large accounts. I serviced two libraries, a museum, an insurance company, a church, and other clients such as a Sears service center. After two years, I sold the company so I could pursue even bigger ideas.
One of my vending locations was a run-down laundromat with a great location and incredible potential, but the owner had given up and the store was in poor repair. Long story short, we negotiated a deal where he carried the financing note, which I paid off within a few years.
That business became one of the busiest laundromats in North Carolina, averaging 2,000 loads of laundry per week and eventually peaking at 2,500. It was an incredible learning experience and helped cultivate my passion for marketing.
By 2010, I had been working from my storefront business for over a decade and was ready for a new challenge. I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for until my friend Danny Raynor introduced me to network marketing.
It was the most exciting business model I had ever seen. I didn’t even know this world existed, but the idea of working from home and no longer reporting to my store seven days a week immediately grabbed my attention. It struck me like lightning. I was determined to figure out how to succeed in this new model.
I worked relentlessly. When I do something, I go all in. But despite my effort, it was nothing but crash, burn, failure, and despair. Over four years, I spent $60,000 and made very little money. It wasn’t due to lack of effort—it was ignorance. I should have discovered the success formula sooner.
After all, I had successfully marketed traditional businesses, which were arguably harder. I had to convince customers to physically walk into my establishment.
In 2012, I shut down my storefront and moved into my home office full-time. There was no turning back. I was going to master affiliate marketing or die trying.
My breakthrough didn’t come until January 2014. At the time, I was only earning about $1,000 per month. I was literally a footstep away from being homeless and completely broke.
But quitting was never truly an option for me.
I had too much to fight for. My daughters, Vanassa and Sarah, and my grandson Blake were always in my heart and on my mind during those difficult days. Their love for me and the moral character they show in their lives inspire me deeply. I am beyond proud of the people they are.
The thought of failing them was something I simply could not accept. When everything around me felt like it was falling apart, they were the reason I kept pushing forward. In many ways, their belief in me made it impossible for me to fail.
My mentor, Jamison, recommended a lead generation platform called Power Lead System. I joined just to get him off my back. He was a millionaire, and I was broke—but I still disagreed with his advice. Eventually, I followed it anyway.
That decision became the catalyst for everything.
Through that platform, I discovered share funnel technology—a simple system of duplication that anyone could follow.
I immediately began sharing, teaching, and coaching anyone who would listen. Over the next year, my income grew from $1,000 per month to $30,000 per month.
Not only did this automated funnel system work for me, but it was also working for thousands of others.
Within 26 months, I became a cash millionaire.
My results were extraordinary across every product or service I promoted. I consistently ranked at the top of the leaderboards in everything I touched.
By the end of my eighth full year, I retired for good.
Today, I live in my dream town of Greenville, South Carolina, and I have never been happier. After 24 years of seven-day workweeks, 18-hour days, and almost no time off, I finally stepped away.
I have found peace on Earth and peace within myself.
There is so much love in my life, and I live with gratitude, humility, and faith. My life today is quiet and simple—free from constant grinding, pressure, and the need to prove anything to anyone.
Because the ultimate success is reaching a place where you no longer feel the need to prove—even to yourself—that you’ve won.
I am blessed beyond anything I ever imagined possible.
And if there is one thing I want people to take from my story, it is this:
Success is not reserved for the lucky or the talented. It belongs to the persistent—the people who fall down, get back up, learn, and keep moving forward when everyone else quits.
No matter how difficult your journey may seem today, your breakthrough could be one decision, one lesson, or one day away.
Never give up on yourself.
Because all the credit, all the praise, and all the glory belongs to Jesus Christ alone for rebuilding my life — and what He did for me, He can absolutely do for you.
